Navigating Sexual Temptation:
Welcome to part two of the controversial topic of sexual temptation. As previously mentioned in part one, sexual temptation is an omnipresent aspect of human experience that can be particularly difficult to navigate in today’s society. This is why it serves as the central topic in my latest poetry book, “Married But THOTful.” In today’s world, sexual content and stimuli are pervasive, from social media to advertising, and it can be challenging to resist the temptation to engage in sexual behaviors that may conflict with our personal values or beliefs, especially if we’re in a committed relationship or marriage.
Although experiencing sexual desire is normal and natural, it’s crucial to have tools and techniques to manage these desires in a healthy and responsible manner. Thankfully, there are many effective strategies that individuals can use to navigate sexual temptation and stay true to their values. These strategies range from identifying triggers and practicing mindfulness to setting boundaries and engaging in self-care. And while I may not be a professional sex therapist, my own observations and experiences have led me to believe that navigating sexual temptation is possible with the right mindset and tools. So, let’s dive in and discover some practical strategies for staying true to ourselves amidst the ever-present temptation.
